Queen Elizabeth II dies, at the age of 96. Whatever their level of support for the royal family, many UK citizens are keenly feeling the loss of the only monarch they have ever known. Her reign of over 70 years is the longest of any British monarch and the longest of any female head of state in history. Dedicated to her duties at home and as Head of the Commonwealth, she was a much-loved and widely respected figure around the world.
