An upgrade to the Large Hadron Collider comes online. Operated by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider significantly boosts capacity for the number of potential collision events. This allows scientists to start designing new experiments for observing rare processes and particles – and anticipate new discoveries in dark matter physics.
